CBD oil to buy online in US. Is it dangerous? Is it a scam?
The old “Viagra without a prescription” scams are still running, and by now, we know that as careful consumers we shouldn’t fall for them. Even when the product is a real generic, it could even be dangerous owing to its illegal source. The new trend seems to be CBD oil to buy online, and once again, the public is vulnerable.
Although the risks of using a “fake” CBD oil, or one that contains contaminants are lower than those run by people buying illegal pharmaceuticals online, they are nonetheless real.
CBD oil to buy online in US: there are some reputable firms but…
Whenever something catches the public interest, there are always those who are willing to supply it, a copy of it, or a fake. Knowing which is which is almost impossible. Generally speaking, CBD oil to buy online scams include:
-
Taking your money and vanishing. You get nothing.
-
Sending a product labelled “CBD oil” that contains little or no cannabidiol.
-
Sending a product that is a real extract but contains dangerous residues.
-
Selling THC oil as CBD oil.
Any US company that is willing to ship CBD oil across state lines is probably not above board. They aren’t allowed to do this, so what’s to say that they are actually selling CBD oil at all, and if they’re willing to break laws to supply it, what kind of ethics are applied to production?
The vetting process
Ideally, you should get as much as this information from third party sources, or get the supplier’s take on it and then see if you can verify the information.
-
Where are they based? (Ironically, EU companies can ship hemp products anywhere they want)
-
Is there a contactable physical address and phone number?
-
Are there genuine client reviews online?
-
How is the oil extracted? Avoid butane and naphtha extractions since they may contain heavy metals.
-
What is the CBD content, and can this be verified by a reputable 3rd party?
-
Was the hemp certified organic? If so, by whom, and under what name is it certified?
If you can get satisfactory answers to all these questions, the CBD oil to buy online could be a pretty good product. Doing this homework may take some time, but any company that is resistant to scrutiny probably has something to hide. Don’t deal with them.
Any additional risks?
Research into CBD oil so far suggests that controlled cannabidiol administration is safe and non-toxic in humans and animals. Some say that longer term effects need to be determined, but if the CBD oil is ethically produced, chances are excellent that it can have no ill effects and many beneficial effects. Apart from a few very mild side-effects, Cannabidiol should be avoided if pregnant or breast-feeding, may interact with other drugs a person is using (check with your doctor).
