In this article we talk about how to make a herbal tea with Cannabis rich Cannabidiol.
CBD (Cannabidiol) is an active component of Cannabis Sativa, and together with tetrahydrocannabinol, (THC), is the main and most well-known phytocannabinoid present in Cannabis.
However, we are starting to talk about other molecules such as CBG, to which we have dedicated an introductory article on the blog of our website.
Cannabis varieties particularly rich in CBD can help to treat a serious number of symptoms for which Cannabidiol is becoming increasingly important. We have already spoken about many of them, for example in the case of:
Chronic pain
Inflammation
Multiple sclerosis
Epilepsy
Arthritis
Anxiety
Muscle Spasms
Cannabis flowers and their rich aroma are ideal to enjoy the pleasure of a herbal infusion and the beneficial and relaxing effects of cannabidiol. For preparations with cannabis used for specific curative purposes, many individuals prefer to use CBD oil, which is much easier to dose and to assimilate. Others however – who prefer to use cannabis in a more “diluted” way – go for the herbal infusion.
Cannabis infusions, one recipe, many possibilities
The “perfect recipe” for a herbal infusion with cannabis flowers is described step by step in the Decree Law of November 9, 2015, entitled “Functions of governmental Body for cannabis, provided for in articles 23 and 28 of the Single convention on narcotic drugs, dated 1961, as amended in 1972”. In the chapter about dosages and instructions for medical use of cannabis, the concept is clearly expressed that “in order to guarantee the continuity of care for each patient in treatment, it will be possible to use preparations made available in two different ways of consumption: by the oral route or by inhalation. In both cases it is recommended to start with the minimum dosage as per the indications of the physician, and to then adjust these dosages if necessary”.
Recipe for herbal infusion of cannabis
As an indication, for the preparation of a herbal infusion with cannabis inflorescences a ratio of 500 mg of cannabis for every 500 ml of water should be considered. The cannabis must be added to cold water which should be heated up slowly. Once reached the boiling point, the pot should be covered with a lid and left boiling for about 20 minutes. At the end of this process, the herbal infusion will be ready for consumption.
Some people, taking into consideration that the active principles are not water-soluble, but liposoluble (they only dissolve in fatty substances and not in water) add 15 ml of milk and leave the herbal infusion to boil for an additional 15 minutes, before leaving it to cool down, and then, consume it. Whichever the preferences, a herbal tea with cannabis flowers is an excellent and pleasant drink and delicate but rich in active principles of the plant.
