The Enecta Bike Tour is returning with its fourth edition. The first novelty of this edition lies in the formula in which the event is going to take place, it will come back in the usual two stages, covering an entire weekend, after the 2020 edition which, due to the Covid emergency, was held in just one day.

This year, in fact, our European cycle friends will also return, mainly from Austria and Holland, who characterised the international soul of the event.

For quite some years now, Enecta has been promoting the relationship between CBD and Sport with the aim of raising awareness of the potential of this molecule, a lifestyle linked to wellbeing, as well as the enhancement of the territory and of the most marginalised inland areas of Abruzzo.

Promoting the territory

One of the objectives of the Enecta Bike Tour is to promote the territory; those inland areas in which Enecta has been investing in hemp cultivation for several years now.

The Enecta Bike Tour is a non-profit event, the participation fee for each cyclist includes the Tour uniform, insurance coverage, two dinners, one night in a hotel, two refreshment points and luggage transport with an accompanying car equipped with spare parts and tools in case of mechanical failure. Our aim is not to create profit from the two days but to add value to the areas in which we operate and live.

In the event that one or more cyclists are unable to continue, the bikes will be loaded onto the accompanying vehicle and they will continue the route by car.

Enecta Bike Tour Fourth Edition

The fourth edition of the Enecta Bike Tour will take place on September 25th and 26th. The start will be in the usual setting of Castelvecchio Subequo while the arrival, a novelty of this edition, will be in Sulmona, the land of Ovid, the poet of love.

There will be two stages during which the participants will accumulate a total of 150 km in a group ride through the unspoilt beauty of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Parks.

The first stage will end in Passo Godi, at an altitude of 1630 metres, where the group will spend the evening in the company of silent, hospitable mountains and good local food.

The following day the second stage will be characterised by a long glide through villages and towns of unique beauty. The group will partly retrace the roads of the Giro d'Italia 2021.

Scanno, Villalago, Anversa degli Abruzzi, Bugnara, Sulmona, some of the villages and countries where the green caravan will transit and stop for a group selfie or a photo by the lake, we will enjoy what nature, history and culture offers in this corner of the Region.

Who is the Enecta Bike Tour suitable for?

The Enecta Bike Tour is a cycling event suitable for anyone with basic cycling training who can cover more than 100 km in two days at a cycling pace, i.e. at an average of between 18 and 20 km/h. Required characteristics: willingness to suffer uphill, healthy fun and getting to know new places and people, where vehicular traffic is close to zero.

Enecta and the protection of the environment

With the Enecta Bike Tour, the company conveys its mission, for example through the development of a model to help create a positive impact on the environment.

The hemp plant, from which Cannabidiol (CBD) is extracted, has beneficial properties for water and soil decontamination, restoration of ecosystems, rural, chemical and nuclear areas. It can be used as a natural pesticide and is useful for enriching cultivated land through crop rotation.

The Enecta cultivation model does not require large amounts of water, no chemical fertilisers or pesticides; the energy source used for cultivation is the sun. Enecta is looking for innovative solutions to reuse disused machinery, for example from the tobacco or mining industry, and to reduce industrial waste.

We have the ambition to achieve zero waste within 5 years, in line with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, as well as the UN Global Compact.

Enecta and the right to health

We believe in well-being, and sport is certainly one of the tools with which to promote it; sporting activity is synonymous with health.

CBD is an additional ally with which to achieve this goal; in this respect, the World Health Organisation has classified CBD as a non-narcotic substance, suitable for medical use since 2017. There are several clinical studies that have shown that CBD can be an effective treatment for specific medical conditions.

One of Enecta's goals is to ensure "access to quality essential health care services and to essential medicines which are safe, effective, high-quality and affordable for all."

CBD, today, is accessible on the market at high prices, limiting access to treatment, especially for less affluent citizens.

We are working to create a production model that can provide the market with quality products at low cost, accessible to all.
